Climbing and Abseiling

Rock climbing and Abseiling

Climbing is one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the world and you can be a part of it!

 Out Climbing

There are loads of benefits of rock climbing: climbing is challenging and taking on the challenge can be very rewarding. If you push yourself you will certainly work up a good sweat, have fun with your friends, or maybe get to the top of a route that looks like a tough test.

Climbing also allows us to get outside to enjoy and be in nature, and there’s something special about climbing on rock the earth has heaved up for us to enjoy. You will probably visit an old limestone quarry, a part of the South Wales industrial landscape, that gives a great climbing venue and a beautiful spot for a climb or abseil.

Climbing enhances and develops a number of skills such as:

  •  agility
  •  balance
  •  concentration
  •  confidence
  •  control
  •  co-ordination
  •  endurance
  •  flexibility
  •  motivation
  •  muscle strength
  •  problem solving
  •  responsibility
  •  stamina
  •  self discipline
  •  team work

The first nerve-racking steps of an abseil!

 Abseiling

You may get the chance to do an abseil during your day. Abseiling is the second fastest way to get down a cliff! Going over the top is the hardest part, your legs may shake but once you have experienced the thrill, and proved to yourself that you can do it, it’s an experience you will never forget!
