The Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains are some of the most stunning mountain ranges in the UK and both are within easy reach of Woodlands. The Brecon Beacons provide the highest peak of Pen Y Fan (886m), while the range of the Black Mountains offers the rolling hills of Hay Bluff, Lord Hereford’s Knob, and the famous Twmpa.

Being out in the mountains allows time to appreciate the beauty of the natural environment and gives a sense of wilderness that is hard to find elsewhere. As a group and as individuals you will need to be self sufficient for a day or even the duration of an expedition, carrying everything you might need as a group, depending on one another and making decisions along the way. |

Some relish the challenge of the climb more than others, but all can share in the success of reaching the summit, the spectacular views, and perhaps the knowledge that those who found it easier did a good job of helping those that found it a struggle.
There is plenty of time to chat and reflect on how good it feels to reach your goal even if there were times when you felt like giving up.
